You cannot compare a woocommerce site created by someone without prior experience with another site built and set up by the developer. I’m sure if you hire the same developer to do your woocommerce you won’t have such problems. Both platforms are complex and without experience it’s frustrating to set up anything.
If someone have money to hire developer, should discuss with him what solution would be better for his case

Bad experience does’t mean no win for the system. There are few rules to follow in order to be happy with the WP and WooC.. 1. Don’t use their own hosting,, use a third party hosting. 2. Do a good end to end testing before go-live.
It looks you are the user who prefer to be supported in any automation, yes Shopify is for you.
Shopify is overrated in my opinion

Not true.. woocommerce has nothing to do with the ability to sell the website.
Thank you for actually giving your true recommendation and not just saying “which one should you use? It’s really up to you and your comfort level” like so many others do. Your analysis of each is spot on. I would add that while the core WooComm plugin is free, you have to purchase plugins to really customize and create a user experience.
Or you learn a little bit of HTML/CSS yourself.
I have not purchased not one plug-in and have a beautiful website.
