I don’t see how any testing has any validity whatsoever w/o running standards w/known concentrations, samples spiked w/known amounts and possibly running tailings from each machine through the other. Basically all they’re doing is seeing which one has the most gold/yardage from unknown samples and looking at what’s in the tailings of each machine.

8. Parker’s Excellence: Testing equipment…. Like a boxing match…
   In this corner is a RED TROMMEL wash plant with HYDRAULIC RIFFLES at 160 yards per hour. And in this corner is a YELLOW wash plant with a JIG at 120 yards per hour. They will be duking it out for 6 hours. Bell rings… JIG had a jam.
   At the end of the day at weigh-out, the two were 1 gram different in gold. What is the increase in extraction? RED TROMMEL processed 960 Yds. YELLOW JIG: 720 Yds. Calculating: (Au Wt.) * (960/720) = 1.33 * (Au Wt.). Thus, the JIG extracted 33% more gold, than a Hydraulic Riffle. The winner in proven higher extraction rates is the YELLOW JIG wash plant!!!!
   Although HYDRAULIC RIFFLES are advantageous, very possibly, if it was a normal sluice box, the increase could be as much as 60%. (Depends upon the ore.) The British Geological Survey (BGS) did a study for fine gold extraction in Papua New Guinea. They discovered that 60% of the gold was going through the sluice box (into the tailings.) This because a standard sluice box can’t catch much fine-gold. BGS Study of a normal sluice box: At 200 microns (70 mesh), one is lucky to get 50% extraction. At 100 microns (140 M), one is lucky to get 10% extraction.

   Keene engineering knew this problem, and created their “Magic Mat.” The Magic Mat has a 90% extraction rate (for gravity gold), down to 100 microns. Other systems have come out with similar technologies, knowing the standard sluice box can’t catch the fine gold.

   Watching Parker over the years, I am impressed that he is bringing in other technologies for fine gold extraction. How many millions did he miss by using a normal sluice box? I believe, from my studies (and my own computational fluid mechanics), the sluice box is one of the biggest frauds of the 20th Century, with false claims by the salesman, “The sluice box gets all the gold.” If you wish to increase your extraction rate for fine-gold, I’m available at danielfsimon at yahoo.[com] This is highly technical.

9. I can’t figure out why they have the girl, ” forgot her name”, but she knows absolutely nothing about machines and gold processing plants. The only thing that she knows about, is swinging a gold detector side to side. Of all the other people that he could have found that actually knows something , instead of a girl that only gold hunts part time, and spends the most making jewellery and trying to model, and with her making jewellery, I don’t think she does very well, as it seems when she does gold hunt, she is always saying how much she needs to make to keep it open, and then her parents give her enough to make sure it stays open. But I do not have any negative feelings about her, but it just seems that Parker would have wanted some one that has lots of experience with wash plants. But I need to remember that this has become a scripted show, and having a girl on it helping Parker, looks good for women watching and maybe becoming intereste, and all about ratings.

Have you ever tried sifting out the water that comes out of there and shoot it to the ground both left and right have a Lotta dark water coming out have you ever tried taking samples from that to see if you are losing any finer goals is that is a lot of pressure you should take one of those left or right hook it up to a slower unit like a down drain to see if you are losing any just a suggestion

Why doesn’t your scooper have a double claw to break things in it before you drop it a big chunk went in because it just popped over the bucket you could see it clear as day you need one clamps and then we’ll drop it so it doesn’t drop in boulders by mistakes or I’m surprised you guys don’t go out like spikes inside the unit so when you drop the dirt it will break and then funnel through need more of a slant probably for that I’ve seen this since the day I watch the show you guys need different scoopers just cause you got the machine doesn’t mean you should count on the machine to break down the material you still need something before hand as I’ve been seeing for years but again what do I know have fun
