If you enjoy our videos, check out our clothing range! https://ktips.myspreadshop.com/ In today’s video we cover the technique behind braking in go karting. Braking can be challenging to master. However, the more you practice the better you will become at braking. (Some of the onboard karting footage was recorded at Losail Go Karting Circuit which is located at the Qatar F1 track) Background music credit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2P9lhkAWrIw&lc=UgxGkzbLzSBkgHkrQER4AaABAg.9OOtv9NDeXx9OQTG1O1ps3

  1. This guy: * Explain the importance of breaking *
Me: * Proceeds to Tokyo drift full gaz in every corner *

  2. When driving rental karts, ie slower 4 strokes, there are some corners where you may not even want to brake at all, and instead just get off the gas and let the kart coast in, keeping the momentum up through the corner.

  3. Here in South Africa we have many tracks that use the Sodi RT8 karts which are on/off switches on brakes and accelerator 🙃 so stupid

  4. Better off coasting through most corners in these slow karts. Braking at all will load weight to the front wheels and take weight off the rear, which is probably why youre sliding in every demonstration and if the rear is sliding then you arent accelerating. If you coast through these turns you can have better weight distribution and take the corner faster. Everything I’ve seen in this video the kart should be able to do without any break at all. Just moderate release of the throttle or change up your racing line.

  5. Can someone explain how do they move so little the wheel in corners? I could never do it

  6. 99% of times, no brakes… for a beginner driver, you are probally not driving fast enough to need to brake, just turn as hard as you can, the kart will naturally slow down.
