While on vacation in Lucca I immersed myself into the world of Grappa.
One of the native Vino E Liquori outlets did a Grappa with a picture of Lucca’s iconic Piazza Anfiteatro on the label.
Safely ensconced in my lodging a glass was poured.
Clear white spirit signifies a blanco grappa. This often denotes unaged liquid – though it may be rested in metal vessels to clean out any tough notes.
There’s a youthful freshness on the nostril – however not overpowering.
A clean & oily palate didn’t give a lot away.
Smidgen of darkish fruitiness on the end mixed with a contact of prickly warmth.
More of a novelty memento providing quite than a sipper.
