I have loved every idea you have come up with other than putting books backward so they blend in with the decor. I would think someone was illiterate if I walked in and saw a bookshelf like that. Not really into painting the covers either.

The tip on using rug tape is excellent. I have a cat that loves to surf on rugs when he’s zooming around while playing. I straighten out my mats 100s of time a day. He’s cute but can get annoying. I’ll definitely look into using rug tape.
